Pretty Flowers

If you tried to watch/listen to Joy's talk on Friday night then you already know that they were having technical difficulties and the screen was black.  Sorry.  The kids and I were all geared up to watch, but alas we'll just have to use our imaginations.  I think she's still planning to put up a link to the audio recording on her blog at some point, so we'll have to hold out for that.

In the meantime, I'll share some random "pretty flower" shots that I've had for a while.  Some of these were taken in our yard, some in the jungle, some by the edge of village airstrips.  What gets me is how much beauty God hides in plain sight--many times we walk right past and don't even notice.  Well here's a chance to take in a bit of that beauty from the comfort of your office chair, without having to soak up the heat and humidity that goes along with it here in Indonesia. :)

What lovely photos! I found you through a link on Joy's blog. I want to thank you for supporting and encouraging her to speak at Relevant. Her talk was nothing less than inspirational and encouraging. She touched hearts and is wise beyond her years. Thank you for taking care of things at home so she could come to America!

Someday when you aren't flying anymore (which is such a wonderful thing to do) you need to publish books of your photos. They are so amazingly beautiful!

Mary B, yes I'm so glad that you were encouraged and inspired by Joy's talk. I was glad to do my little part here in Indonesia--and I got a lot of help from my MAF team!

Frances, thanks for the kind words. I've actually thought about it, but not really sure how to go about that. In the meantime, I'm just having fun taking photos. :)

If you go into Blog2print you can print an entire blog into a book pictures and writing too. I have made a 2010 blog book with 195 pages through this site for my children and husband it is about 67-75 dollars depending on the size of your blog and whether there is a coupon to add to the order right now it is 15% off which is 67.00 for a nice hard back blog book. Just thought I would share it. (this is a very easy program it takes about 10 minutes for their site to get the blog and put it into a form)you just have to give them access and approval.
