Last Week

Here's a few shots from a typical week--last week, using a small red and white airplane to bridge vast geological, cultural and spiritual barriers. Man I love my job!

I can't quite place the top picture. Is that a take off from Long Nawang or Long Metun or somewhere else?

That there would be Long Nawang, with a telephoto lense from the parking area. Actually, Alan & I were both in there at the same time, several times throughout the day flying church people to a conference. Since I always had backloading to Mahak, and he didn't to Sule, I let him take off first, which gave me the unusual opportunity to photograph another airplane. The one of MPY down below is also Alan taking off at Nawang. Of course, I was just a few minutes behind him. :)

Cool. Nawang was my first guess. For some reason I have never seen another float plane at my landing sites. For that matter, I only have one time seen another aircraft anywhere interior.

Dave,

These photos somehow put me there in a new way. The photo of the aircraft over the jungle -- whoa. I know you do this, but I can't believe you really do this.

Pictures are worth a thousand words. And good pictures say so much. Once again, these photos are rich in content, both in the air and on the ground. Of course, memories of 2 months ago well up as I dwell on each photo.
Thanks for treating me to a "day" n your life and sharing a few of the blessings of "crossing barriers".

I love these pictures. My favorite is where the plane is standing still and the trees are moving.

Once again great pictures and you inspired me to take my camera on a flight this morning. It was not very good lighting but beautiful sights. You can see my attempts at hondacubber.blogspot.com/

Dave,

These pictures are priceless! I especially like the picture of the old lady with the incredible earlobes. The ones of the little children is adorable. They are all so interesting. You are an awesome photographer!
